Conan’s Final Message

It was sad to see see him leave the Tonight Show.  Jay Leno is going to have a difficult time living up to Conan’s final show.

UFC 107 – BJ Penn vs. Diego Sanchez

BJ Penn is going to try to defend his lighweight championship for the third time tonight.   Penn hasn’t been calling anyone out before the fight like he normally does, but don’t expect it to be a mellow and carefree match.  BJ is out for blood and he knows that Diego is a tough opponent with real skills.  Bj wants to let his fans know that he is really focused on getting the win and battling until his opponent is down and out.  Penn, at age 30, knows that he has to work harder and fight smarter.  The lessons he was taught durning his loss to GSP will help propel him to the next level.

Lakers’ Kobe Bryant injures right index finger

The Lakers crushed the Timberwolves today, but Kobe Bryant fractured his right index finger.  He had to go to the locker room to get an X-ray, but even a broken finger can’t keep Kobe down.  He later came back to the game to help the Lakers win another big game.  We will have to check back tomorrow to see if #24 will be ready for Utah.

Review – 500 Days of Summer

I know this is a little late, but i just watched 500 Days of Summer last night.  I was really impressed with the casting of this film.  Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zoe Deschanel both play believable characters who give life to a fairly generic screenplay.  I don’t want to give too much away, but this movie is both funny and tragic at the same time.  It follows Tom and his Journey of 500 Days of Summer.  Summer is the girl that Tom has been waiting to meet for his entire life.  Tom and Summer connect romantically, but there is one huge problem.  Summer isn’t looking to get serious with anyone…not even Tom.  We follow Tom and Summer along a journey that looks as if it can only crash and burn. The movie starts off saying “THIS IS NOT A LOVE STORY”, but i see it as a realistic love story that the post MTV generation can relate to.
