NBC and CBS offer vintage TV episodes online

Now you’ve got Mr. T, Mr. Spock and Kojak at your fingertips anytime. NBC and CBS have just announced free streams of vintage TV episodes on their Web sites.

Online at NBC.com, the Way Back Wednesdays page features full episodes of such NBC Universal library series as “Miami Vice,” “Emergency,” “Buck Rogers” and “The A-Team.” (Who doesn’t need to see Mr. T in “Mexican Slayride”?)

CBS.com’s new Television Classics list taps the CBS library (vintage Paramount and CBS shows) for full episodes of shows like “The Twilight Zone,” “Hawaii Five-O,” “Star Trek” and “Melrose Place.”

They’re also streaming “MacGyver,” whose mechanical ingenuity was just tested on Discovery Channel’s “MythBusters.”

NBC-owned cable channel sites Sci Fi.com. ChillerTV.com and SleuthChannel.com also plan to start vintage streaming this month. Expect shows like “Tek War” and “Night Gallery” (SciFi), “The Alfred Hitchcock Hour” and “Swamp Thing” (ChillerTV) and “Kojak” and “Simon & Simon” (SleuthChannel).

But remember, though you’re watching online, you’re still watching TV – these no-cost streams are sponsored by included commercials. Nothing comes free, does it?

      Lost 4×04 Eggtown Recap

No GravatarIt was a very good episode this week.

This episode was centered around Kate for the most part.

In a flash forward scene we see Kate being tried for the crimes she committed before the crash. We learn that Kate has a son when her lawyer wants him to testify on her behalf, but she refuses to let him.

So they get Jack (who lies during his testimony) and says there were 8 who originally survived the plane crash. However there were only 6 who were rescued. Who and where are the two that are unaccounted for? Was one of those in that coffin we saw in an earlier episode? Was it Claire?

Speaking of Claire, Kate’s son is also named Aaron. Is this a coincidence or does she have Claire’s baby. Is Kate’s baby hers and Sawyers? Is that why Jack wont see him? So many questions left to ask and answer. Tune into this weekend’s podcast as we discuss and answer among other things these questions about Lost.

‘Lost’: Mind-Blowing Scoop From Its Producers

        By Jeff Jensen

Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse tell Doc Jensen what they’ll answer this season, how they’re handling the time/space plot, what’s relevant (or irrelevant) to the story, and more…

        THE TEASE!
If I had to sum up tonight’s episode in one word, it would be ”Kate.” If I had to choose two, it would be ”Dharma bums.” Three words? They would be ”Deals with devils.” And if I had to pick four or more, I’d say, ”Let’s just ask executive producer Damon Lindelof.”

”Remember last week when you were left wondering if Ben was a member of the Oceanic 6? Well, the last line of dialogue of this episode will cause the fans to ask a very similar question.”

Okay, since you brought it up, Damon: Is Ben a member of the Oceanic 6?

”Nothing precludes him from being a member of the Oceanic 6 — other than he wasn’t on the plane,” says Lindelof. ”But he does have a room full of documents and passports. He could have just, you know, done some research and doctored some records and adopted the identity of someone on the plane — someone with no family or friends who would know otherwise. So who’s to say he isn’t?”

So…when will we know for certain?

”By the end of the seventh episode, the audience will now know who the Oceanic 6 are.”

Well, whaddyaknow: a Doc Jensen column with some genuinely useful information for a change! And guess what?

We’re just getting started. Read More…
