Just Say No to Classic Lakers Rap

The Classic Laker teams of the 80’s dominated the floor with millions of fans and global recognition. A team with NBA greats Kareem, Magic Johnson, James Worthy, and Byron Scott had to use its power for the greater good of America, right? It must have been another one of Jerry Buss’ great ideas because this might be even more embarassing than trading Shaq to Miami. In a similar fashion to “We Are the World: USA for Africa”, the Lakers present “Just Say No”. This video is hard to watch, but I have to admit that I had to shuffle and sing the lines…Just Say No…Just Say No to Drugs…Just Say Yes…Just Say Yes to Life. Notice toward the end of the video that one of the Lakers tosses up a young infant and almost snaps the little guys neck.

It should have been called, “Just Say No to Short-Shorts”.

I have a feeling that M.C. Hammer must have found this to be a very inspirational piece of work. Byron Scott is actually a good rapper. If coaching doesn’t work out for him, he has some other options in life.

Can someone track down some of these kids in the video to find out if this video actually made them want to start taking drugs?

    STAGE6

I guess the main difference between the two is – Stage6 offers high quality DivX videos of nationally broadcasted shows as well as amateur videos. Youtube offers a much greater selection of mostly amateur videos that are in the flash video format.

    Video Quality
Winner: Stage6 offers much better video quality. In fact, some videos are close to high definition quality. You can watch videos in true full-screen mode.

    Content
Winner: Youtube – This category is not even close.

    Mainstream friendly
Winner: Youtube – Uses flash video that is preinstalled on most browsers. Stage6 requires visitors to install a DivX codec plugin.

The popularity of youtube cannot be disputed but if you haven’t tried stage6 you’ll be surprised at the high quality videos they provide. Visit http://www.stage6.com/ and see for yourself.
